While cleaning up at work, I discovered some newspapers from the mid-’40s from the town I work in. All the phone numbers were only five digits long, new tires cost $9.00, and Dr. Ogre Banshee was at the Palace. — Pookie

Tonight was one of those “oh crap, we have to take a picture of something, don’t we?” nights. In walking around the house looking for something to photograph, I was reminded that I have several brick red necklaces. — Pookie

I got to leave work super-duper early today because I was in the office super-duper late yesterday. So I was all, “Daylight! Lots of it! I should take pictures!” But it was pouring rain, so I stood out under the side porch roof and took two pictures of rain on the drainpipe extender thingie. Wooo! –Schn.

After a day of very high winds and lots and lots of rain, we were so relieved that the power stayed on long enough for Schnookie to make us a traditional Saturday pasta dinner. Also, as of this picture, the satellite was still working for us to watch the Devils game. Sweet!

What better way could there be to end a perfect weekend than to eat homemade ice cream made from farm strawberries frozen last year (they smelled so much like early summer) in homemade waffle cones (these were so, so, so, so, so good and smelled so much like late summer)?

First of all, the waffle fries are making me hungry. Second of all, that old timey newspaper is too much! I can just imagine Eleanor unearthing it and shrieking and racing off for her camera. Fantastic.
