Our Flickr friend, Carol Browne, joked in the comments over there that we might be her “rich, American friends”. Sadly, this is but a joke. However, if we were rich Americans, one of the first things we’d do would be to buy a fabulous place in New York City if only to be able to spend every Christmas in New York. Christmas in New York is so extraordinarily special.
Every fancy office building as fancy decorations out front, like these banks of lit-up trees surrounding the plaza of the otherwise very, very staid Seagram Building:
Every church is bedecked with festive and traditional garlands:
And every Rockefeller Center boats a massive, massive tree:
(This year’s tree actually came from nearby Trenton, NJ. It was like a Christmas miracle version of “Trenton Makes, The World Takes”.)
